Project Background
Objectives:
The basic objective of this study is to find the feasibility of a contemporary financial product “Nano-Loan” in Bangladesh. The project aims to investigate the possibility of the development of “nano-loan” a new kind of microloan for retailers using alternative credit scoring mechanisms. Besides, the study targets to uncover the scope of nano-loans in Bangladesh.
Background:
MOMODa FOUNDATION in collaboration with IFMR-LEAD, India is conducting a study on mico loan products targeting the Grameen Phone agents. These agents are usually involved in the business of Grameenphone products. The other partners of the project are Grameen Phone and Bank Asia where GP is providing their agents data for the study and Bank Asia will provide the financial product “nano-loan” to the agents.
Project Description
Methods: Due to the Covid-19 situation telephonic survey has been designed to conduct a baseline study. A structured questionnaire has been developed to conduct the telephonic survey. The surveyors will be using the SurveyCTO platform for the study.
Description:
MOMODa FOUNDATION will conduct a total number of 500 telephonic surveys on Grameen Phone agents located in Dhaka, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, and Khulna Divisions. All possible preparation has been taken for the survey. The telephonic survey will start on 01 June 2020. Questions will be asked in the survey about GrammenPhone business, expenditure, consumption, other business, profits, etc. Analyzing the data Bank Asia will provide loans depending on the Consumptions, expenditure, profits, etc. MOMODa FOUNDATION will provide accurate and clean data to IFMR-LEAD after the completion of the survey work.
