Short Bio:
Shadia Chowdhury is a highly experienced food and nutrition expert, now serving as the Executive (Communication) at MOMODa Foundation. With an M.S. and B.Sc. Honor’s degree in Food & Nutrition from the University of Dhaka, she has an impressive background in both clinical and research settings. Shadia’s expertise was honed during her tenure as a Nutrition Consultant & Dietician at BIRDEM Hospital and Popular Medical College Hospital, where she provided essential dietary and nutritional services to patients. Additionally, she has worked as a consultant with the Reproductive Health Services Training and Education Program (RHSTEP), focusing on reproductive health services for women and adolescents.
In her research career, Shadia has explored key areas like maternal and child nutrition, food security, and dietary diversity. Her work at LINCOLNS Higher Education & Management as a research officer, as well as her role at the Bangladesh Breastfeeding Foundation, highlights her commitment to improving public health. Shadia also held research positions at ICDDR, B, where she further developed her expertise. She has completed advanced training in social science research techniques at the University of Dhaka, clinical nutrition and dietetics at BIRDEM General Hospital, and participated in the multi-sectoral consultative meeting for International Health Regulation (IHR-2005) at DGHS.
Driven by a passion to improve the lives of mothers and children through evidence-based interventions, Shadia brings her communication skills and nutrition expertise to MOMODa Foundation, aiming to raise awareness, mobilize resources, and build partnerships to support the organization’s mission.
